"Hello there, I wanted to zip a quick e-mail before the holidays passed to wish you all a great holiday season. I hope you and the kids are adjusting to life out there – I don’t even want to hear that there’s great skiing yet. Just to let you know – I’ve been able to maintain to good eating habits that you were able to get me on track with. I had lost 11lbs and have kept them off since July. I do think of you just about every time I eat…LOL! Thank you so much for your help. Happy Holidays!" (12/09) Jennifer Newsom - Newtown, CT
“I really liked the cleanse (although I was really hungry on cleanse days!). It gave me so much energy, and I FINALLY got below 130!! I was really struggling to break that number, so that made me very happy! Now my goal is to maintain it. I definitely want to try the cleanse again. Maybe next month or right after the holidays. I want to do it right before I go to Florida in February, too. I am continuing to have a shake for breakfast and sometimes have one for lunch, too, depending on how I feel. I love the energy I have because of the combination of cleanse and exercise. I really did think it was beneficial. It was actually a real boost for me, too, because I honestly didn’t think I would have the motivation to make it through the nine days, and I was so happy that I did it.” -Karen Tuller
“Hi Nina, I just wanted to thank you for coming in to my life. I am so happy and proud of myself. I still have another 10lbs. to go but i feel unbelievable, I look at my self in the mirror and I’m WOW! I am back! well almost back. I can fit into lots of stuff i couldn’t wear before and that i refused to get rid off. I am very happy that i read the Sportsplex brochure because I never do and guess what? I found you. and I finally did it. And you know something that is incredible I don’t crave the WINE! the tea, coffee, is that amazing or what? OMG I am just ecstatic. And thank you again for helping me almost reach my goal cause I’m almost there. ” - O
“Thank you so much for guiding us through this diet. It was an eye-opening (and mouth-closing) experience for me. I didn't think I had the will power to do it but I found that it wasn't that tough because I didn't really feel hungry. I had to add in a little protein in the afternoons and I was a little tired during my tennis class but overall I felt great. Most importantly, I think I kicked the caffeine habit. I had a cup of decaf this morning and I was completely satisfied. I know it's not that good for me but it's better than caffeinated.” -Newtown Parent
“Nina, thank you so much for sharing and inspiring me today. Our 14 year old has a friend over....and they were lurking in the kitchen....The cacoa powder and coconut oil and agave just made it's way out and into the chocolate sauce...the coconut, almonds and cacoa nibs helped us find JOY! They cut up a bowl full of bananas and VOILA, la chocolate!!!! YUM! The reviews are rave. Chocolate bars and bark are on the horizon once I get cocoa butter in the house! You have inspired and empowered! Thank you. Not only did we enjoy a very scrumptious chocolate dessert, but we also enjoyed good healthful conversation!!!!” - Chocolate Class Attendee
"Brava Nina. Nice big group. I asked George whether Rob gave them all instructions to get to the Workshop. He did. He even borrowed the Y van and drove them there! Go Rob! I think you did a marvellous job. Picking two key points and hammering them home was a great way to ensure that they get and retain the messages. One of the moms who was there, just called to thank me for putting it together and was very impressed. Pat came up to me after and said she thought you were spot on. Thanks so much Nina" - YMCA MAKOS SWIM TEAM PARENT COMMITTEE LIASON“Thanks again. As we said last night, I thought it went well. I thought you touched on some really key points that will be extremely useful to both parents and swimmers in a practical way and also gave some food for thought for the most receptive among them about how a body uses the fuel it's given.” - YMCA MAKOS SWIM TEAM PARENT
"I loved the diet ... I lost 4 and a half pounds on it and have been very careful to introduce foods in the post diet phase. I noticed a difference in my skin first and also , in my stomach. I was having very bad reactions to antibiotics and this reallly cleansed me. I felt loads of energy by the third day. I did have a headache the first day but it went away. What I am doing now is I am keeping all white food and sugar out of my system and trying to stick with fruits , veggies and protein. I will continue to use quinoa as an alternate breakfast start. I really love it. I am also trying to keep dairy out of my diet since I think I was having too much and it might have not been good for me. My plan is to do this once a month.... ill keep you posted." -DETOX DIET GROUP PARTICIPANT
"I enjoyed the detox diet. I tend to eat lots of fruits and veggies to begin with so I did not find it hard to cut out the meat. However, I did miss my protein like peanut butter, nuts, and chicken and fish. I added a little bit of the fish to the diet on days 2 and 3. It really showed me how much senseless snacking I do throughout the day. I am trying to change that habit. "I would definitely do it again." -Donna, DETOX DIET GROUP PARTICIPANT
"Hi Nina! Diet is OVER and my hubby and I made it! It was great, lost a few lbs and will now think much more about what I eat :-) Thanks, Mackenzie" -DETOX DIET GROUP PARTICIPANT
"Thanks, Nina, for your support. It was interesting that I wasn't starving during the day. I just had problems eating the rice for breakfast, even with adding the applesaue and cinnamon. I did fine, though. Today, Friday, I had the brown rice porrige and it was delicious. I weighed myself in and lost 1-1/2 lbs. Not bad since I have been struggling with this for over a year now. I am now going to be more conscious of what I consume during the day and eat more healthy." Angie -DETOX DIET GROUP PARTICIPANT
